    Trip Highlights

Your 8 days in Singapore are filled with a range of fantastic activities, but the highlight is the visit to the awe-inspiring Gardens by the Bay. Located by the Marina Bay Waterfront in the heart of Singapore, Gardens by the Bay is a sanctuary for nature lovers and budding horticulturalists alike. Comprising three distinct spaces over 101 hectares–Bay South Garden, Bay East Garden and Bay Central Garden–this oasis of lush greenery has won multiple accolades since it first opened in 2012, and you'll get to see why on day 3 of your trip.

    FAQ: Single, twin-share and more

    What is twin-share, triple-share and quad-share?

The share-basis is about accommodation pricing. It does not mean that you share a room with a stranger.

"Twin-share" is where two people occupy a hotel room (open-plan style) or other accommodation such as an apartment, usually a couple or two friends. This is the normal way accommodation is priced. The price is shared between two people. Most accommodation properties (eg. hotels) offer rooms with king, queen or double beds. Most offer the option of "twin" beds as well which actually means two single beds to accommodate singles sharing, couples wanting space and so-on.

"Triple share" is where three people occupy the accommodation and share the price. "Quad-share" is where four people occupy the accommodation and share the price. Family apartments and hotel rooms usually include a king, queen or double bed and one or more single beds to handle triple and quad-share arrangements. Sometimes other bedding configurations are available as well.

    What is a seasonal adjustment?

Some accommodation providers, especially in very popular holiday locations, have higher room rates for busy holiday periods (usually spring and summer holidays). We must make an allowance for those price variations if applicable.

    What is a single supplement?

A "single supplement" applies to single travellers who want a room to themselves. Because the price is not shared, a "single supplement" applies. This additional amount is based on the single covering the entire accommodation component of the trip that would normally be split between two or more people.

    About today:

Journey to Pualau Ubin, just off the mainland

Visit a small island off Singapore's mainland

Spend the day on Pulau Ubin, a small island an hour away from the city that recalls a time when the city-state’s infrastructure was limited to wooden house villages and wooden jetties, and surrounded by wildlife. Considered the last kampong or native village, Pulau Ubin exhibits a rural idull with its working village wells and absence of electric power lines. Explore the island on foot or by bicycle. Adventurous types can take on steep and short climbs and descents or a five-mile path through open meadows and thick jungle.

While here, journey through the mangroves and explore the natural beauty of this ecosystem on an optional kayaking tour. At the southeastern tip of the island is Tanjong Check Jawa, a 250-acre wetland. Stroll on the boardwalk, which runs along the coast and into a mangrove, where you might spot local fauna including fiddler crabs and monitor lizards. At the end of the boardwalk is a 66-foot viewing tower which you can climb to get a closer look at the tree canopy and its attendant birdlife.

    About today:

Singapore's street food is not to be missed

Immerse yourself in delicious and diverse cuisine

Today is devoted to self-exploring the diverse cultural enclaves of Singapore’s three dominant ethnic groups, and discover their delicious eats along the way. First, take a taxi to Little India, a small but vibrant neighborhood. Walk along the narrow lanes of the community and its colorful buildings, passing Hindu temples, sweets shops, a heritage center, and aromatic restaurants. Make your way to Tekka Market, a one-stop shop for locals to buy groceries, do shopping, and dine at the food court. Here you can try the local preferred breakfast of roti canai, layered flatbread, dipped in curry.

Next is Chinatown, where you can nibble and taste your way through a variety of restaurants, stalls, and shops. Top it off with a local favorite dessert, chendol: a refreshing mix of tapioca, fruits, milk, and ice.

Finally, explore the quiet Malay heritage district of Kampong Glam. Admire the golden dome of the Sultan Mosque and an outdoor art gallery of street art and wall murals, as well as the Indie-chic shopping street called Haji Lane. You will also see the art of making teh tarik, pulled tea, in action - and if you're lucky, you will get the opportunity to try your hand as well.

Note: A comprehensive guided food tour is available to take today if you do not wish to explore by yourself.
