    Your Day-to-day Itinerary:

Just 90 minutes "up the range" from Brisbane, Toowoomba crowns the edge of the Great Dividing Range 700 metres above sea level, overlooking the Lockyer Valley. After checking-in to your accommodation you'll rejoin the group to go back in time to the Australian transport era of the early to mid-1900's at Cobb+Co Museum.

Later we make our way to one of Toowoomba's most peaceful and beautiful Japanese gardens, Ju Raku En. You then have free time for the afternoon. An optional Darling Down's Zoo experience is available on this day.

Join us for dinner at Toowoomba Sports Club and enjoy a hearty meal while catching up with your tour friends.

    (Meals: dinner)

This morning we say goodbye to Toowoomba and head up the road to Dalby where we'll delve into the history and stories that give it a character all of its own. The Heritage Trail is our best way to explore the town and learn about Dalby’s historic buildings.

Dalby is also a great place to use as or base for exploring the Bunya Mountains. We'll drive an hour north to Bunya Mountains National Park for the spectacular views of the mountains, rainforests, waterfalls and colourful birdlife that make it famous. Lunch is provided and there's free time available. This evening we return to Dalby and after checking-in to our accommodation we'll go for a lovely group dinner and local wine at Dalby Leagues Club.

    (Meals: lunch, dinner)

Just an hour from Dalby lays the picturesque town of Kingaroy, famous for peanuts. We begin our journey in the morning, passing through the Bunya Mountain ranges to reach the town.

After morning tea at the charming Whipbird Cafe, we head to Kingaroy Heritage Museum, followed by a visit to Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery. This afternoon there's a delicious lunch at Kingsley Grove Estate to enjoy followed by free time. A trip to Murgon follows with a visit to the Dairy and Heritage museum.

In July there's there Winter Craft festival and in August Kingaroy comes alive for the annual Kingaroy Baconfest, a three-day celebration of Australian pork. In May, we'll check out the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival an hour’s drive north of Kingaroy.

    (Meals: morning tea, lunch)

After breakfast we say goodbye to Kingaroy and begin our journey back to Brisbane. We'll stop along the way at the town of Dayboro to grab a bite to eat. And although the drive back to Brisbane is three hours long, the scenery alone will complete your unforgettable trip.

    FAQ's for This Package

Flights are not included in this package. If required, we'll happily price flights for you to suit your requirements along with transfers to and from Brisbane airport once the number of travelers is known. If you have accumulated Australian Escapes Free Flights vouchers, these can be used to reduce the overall price (limits will apply).

All of our travel and tour packages are fully flexible. Each is a TEMPLATE to be used as a framework around which you can customise an itinerary to suit. The minimum numbers are flexible as well and groups can be as small as two people for a self-guided holiday. After discussion, we'll go away and prepare a tour plan (including best value pricing) to suit your ideas and preferences.

Accommodation is supplied in Toowoomba for 1 night, Dalby for 1 night, and Kingaroy for 1 night. It will be hotel style rated Bronze standard or above. This means high quality accommodation. Bedding is arranged to suit the number of persons staying. All accommodation is subject to change subject according to availability however it will be as central as possible and high quality.

We try to include as much as possible to avoid any surprises however some optional activities might be offered. Included activities are shown on each listing. Also shown are exclusions.

All tours are flexible. In this case the base tour package has been designed for a club or other group of 20 or more on an "Exclusive group charter" basis. However it can be modified to suit a "Small group charter" to suit groups of as few as 6 people. Couples or small groups of say 3 to 6 could do this trip as a self-guided holiday.

When you arrive at each destination on your trip your tour director will show you around and point out places of interest. A professional tour director is provided and recommended for exclusive charters of 20 or more people. A group trip organiser may also fill this role.

    General Tour Package FAQ's

Yes, the idea of our tour packages is to get you to the destinations on the itinerary where you can stay with the main group or go off on your own if you prefer. Flexibility is the essential ingredient.

Yes, however please ensure that you mention this requirement so we can be certain that arrangements are made where needed. You do need to be traveling with a person who will provide personal assistance.

Yes, and if rain is forecast you should be prepared with a compact umbrella or rainproof jacket as preferred.

Yes we do. Dietary requirements affect included set meals and will be taken into consideration during the planning process.

All tours can be operated on a "Group-guided" basis. A complete "Tour Manager Notes & Guide" manual is supplied to the group leader (trip organizer). Included is a comprehensive daily itinerary, driver instructions and information about each part of your tour to enable you to provide entertaining commentary. Also included are checklists and reminders about daily tasks. The end-result is easy-flowing trip organisation, fewer issues and very happy tour participants. Overall it means less stress and a lot more fun for everyone.

If a tour director is supplied it will be shown as an inclusion in the standard tour package. But this is very flexible and if not included as standard, can be arranged if preferred. If you are part of a social group such as Probus, the trip organiser will often enjoy taking on this role. We provide comprehensive information and guidance for "hands-on" trip organisers. This includes a "how-to" guide and starter information about the places visited on the tour.

Yes, definitely. All charter tour packages are simply "templates" as a starting point for customising a tour to suit. We then we apply the discounts available to you, your club or corporate group.

All tour packages are flexible. Various options are already published. (See the Pricing section for the tour you are interested in.) Many will show "Join a departure" dates to suit couples and singles. If you represent a club or other group, please click the "Enquiry" button to request pricing for your group size as pricing is often affected by the number of people.

We try to include as much as possible to avoid any surprises however some optional activities might be offered. Included activities are shown on each listing. Also shown are exclusions.

"Self-guided" is a trip designed for couples and small groups (such as two couples) travelling together using a single car. It means that you guide yourself on the trip. "Group-guided" means the tour is for a larger group with either a group leader as tour director or a tour director is supplied in the package. Larger "Group-guided" packages will offer both tour management options.

One of the challenges in managing tour groups is making sure everyone can hear what is being said. Audio-guide equipment enables the tour guide or manager to communicate via microphone and headset with all members of the tour group. For groups of 12 or more a tour-guide system is recommended.

On multi-day tours where accommodation is supplied you will often have a choice of accommodation types at the same hotel or resort. We'll find out your preferences in the early stages of planning your trip.

"Just to let you know what a wonderful holiday we had in Canada/Alaska thanks to Ben. He did a great job with our Travel Itinerary everything went to plan I would recommend Australian Escapes and this holiday to my friends and family we are definitely going to do this holiday again. I did give Ben a ring and thanked him and told him what a great job he did. We are looking forward to our next holiday with Australian Escapes." Rosanna M.

"I was one of the ladies who went with Cherrie to Norfolk. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and thought you did a marvellous job organising it all for us. The accommodation in both Sydney and Norfolk was outstanding - I had never been to either places before and could have stayed much longer in Sydney, as the view from our hotel windows was wonderful. Everyone on Norfolk was so friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. Thank you so much for making our holiday so enjoyable." Jan W.

"Hi, have finally returned. Wonderful, wonderful trip. We think we loved Paris and its age/artworks but all was full of laughter fun and learning. Paris apartment was beautiful, & quiet when windows were closed, which wasn't bad anyway. The street is full of lots of restaurants and cafe's. (we also loved Shakespeare & co bookshop.) Fruit and chocolates in most rooms and champagne which I think we only drank in Brussels. we were ready for bed everywhere else though we almost had it for morning tea at Amsterdam on check in. Magnificent. Cheers." Val C.

"Have just returned from our wonderful trip to the UK. Just wanted to say a huge thanks for your organisation, we had the best holiday ever, an absolutely marvellous time, the tour was magnificent. We would recommend the Trafalgar Britain and Ireland Winter delights tour to anyone who wants to do adventurous travel, learning about other countries, and making friends. The coach was actually over half full of Aussies! Thanks so much for organising such a memorable holiday for us." Lee D.

"Deb and I are very grateful for the work you have put into our holiday. 10 days in and we are blown away by the quality and location of the motels and apartments. Many thanks." Jen W.

"My husband and I have recently returned from a holiday to Canada and Alaska booked through Australian Escapes. The itinerary was planned to take in all aspects of the holiday we required. The travel transfers worked seamlessly and the accommodation was at a standard that met our expectations of comfort and location. We absolutely loved the cruise and surprise upgrade to our stateroom. From our experience with this recent trip I would recommend Australian Escapes." Margaret & Bill T.

"We've arrived back safely after a thoroughly enjoyable trip where all the arrangements ran like clockwork, for which we want to thank you and your team, especially Sonya and Skye. We'd have no hesitation in recommending you and Volga Dream cruises to anyone who asks. Kind regards and thanks again." Irene and Blake S.

"I want to thank you for all the accommodation you arranged for us during our holiday in North Queensland in August. It was all excellent. The transfers went very smoothly too and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our holiday. Thank you for making everything so easy." Gloria K.

"My life has been like a whirlwind since I got back. I am now on holidays and catching up with people that I have not had time to contact since coming back. Thank you so much for organising my trip to The States and Canada for me. I had a great time and everything went really well. All flights went well. The hotel you booked me into in Champaign was a really old home with beautiful gardens, all done up and run by two gay guys. It was really quaint and I loved it. I had a great time, everything went without a hitch, I loved all the accommodation that you organized for me and I would like to wish you a happy Christmas and all the best." Marlene S.

"A message of thanks to you and your staff. The holiday went off without any problems and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and and had a wonderful time. Again many thanks." Dianne D.

"We are back and rested after a hectic few weeks (away), but everything worked out extremely well. Thanks so much for all your organisation – once you get used to the trains and buses, life becomes easy. Once again, thanks to you and the team for all the organisation from both Lorraine and I – we really enjoyed the holiday. All the best." Bob C.

"We just wanted to let you know that the arrangements you put in place for us in WA worked beautifully. You said the Margaret River accommodation was exceptional and it certainly was both in terms of location and facilites. Thanks again." Betty and Clancy S.
