Relax on the beaches of Noosa, take in at least one round of golf, explore Fraser Island, enjoy award-winning seafood on a Mooloolaba cruise and journey through the Sunshine Coast’s spectacular hinterland, taking in the relaxed vibe and beautiful views. You’ll lose yourself in the natural beauty and serenity of the Sunshine Coast on this 6-day holiday. Great, even if you've been here many times before.
"Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and to lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and friends. You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things: air, sleep, dreams, sea, the sky all things tending towards the eternal or what we imagine of it." - Cesare Pavese
Who doesn’t love a road trip? One of the many great things about the Sunshine Coast is its proximity to Brisbane. Fly in to Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast and pick up your mini-van or large SUV. Hit the road on your journey to the Sunshine Coast.
After checking into your luxury coastal resort, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure. Refer to your Lonely Planet guide for things to do as a couple or group.
Today is your first full day on the Sunshine Coast, spend it how you want! You can do this trip even if you’re not a golfer but if you are, head off for a round at Pelican Waters Golf Club. The club features an impressive driving range, practice putting and chipping greens, and a well-equipped golf shop.
18 Holes of Golf (or 3-course Dinner):
Experience the spectacular 18-hole, championship, Greg Norman-designed golf course at Pelican Waters which fittingly boasts one of the finest clubhouses and practice facilities in Australia. The first round is included. If you're not golf-mad you can swap the gold for a 3-course sumptuous dinner at a great restaurant.
Eumundi Markets (self-guided):
The largest on the Sunshine Coast and one of the largest in Queensland, the famous Eumundi Markets are a must-visit for anyone looking to snag a bargain or come away with a keepsake of your time spent on the Sunshine Coast. Popular but never crowded, the Eumundi markets are home to over 300 stalls displaying a multitude of arts, crafts and produce. You'll find clothes, pottery, paintings, bowls, hats, bush furniture and more. The markets operate twice a week - Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Fraser Island Day Tour:
Take a journey of discovery today as you explore Fraser Island onboard a purpose built 4x4 'Warrior' vehicle. In the morning, head to beautiful Noosa where you’ll meet your guide and start your tour with a trip to Inskip Point. There you'll take a short ferry trip over to Fraser Island where you’ll be thrilled with a drive along the magnificent "beach highway" before travelling into the centre of the island to experience one of the clearest lakes you'll ever see, Lake McKenzie.
Don't forget your swimmers and towel to enjoy a dip in these stunning blue waters. After lunch, be amazed by the sights and smells of the ancient rainforest with a wander through Central Station to Pile Valley before making our way back towards the mainland.
After your tour, spend some time exploring Noosa. Home to superb day spas, world-class golf courses, stylish shopping and delicious cuisine, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Today is yours to enjoy at leisure. Relax seaside and soak up the sun, play some more golf with your partner or friends, or head inland on a tour of the Sunshine Coast’s hinterland.
Rainforest, Views and Montville Day Tour with Lunch (included in Gold-star package):
The Sunshine Coast's hinterland and its quaint mountain village of Montville provides a great atmosphere combining rainforest with Australia's version of an English village which was established way back in 1887.
Take the opportunity to browse through the variety of galleries, art studios and craft shops on display, then take a guided walk through the hinterland proper for an indication of the amazing range of native fauna in the rainforests of the area.
Mooloolaba is one of many resort towns along the Sunshine Coast, the kind of place where the beaches cafes and and restaurants along the waterfront get packed during summer. Today you’ll head there to enjoy a lunch cruise.
Mooloolaba Seafood Lunch:
Glide through the Mooloolaba river waterways, cruise past the Mooloolaba Wharf and Yacht Club and marvel at the luxurious waterfront homes on Minyama island. Dine on fresh seafood (including the famous, locally caught Mooloolaba prawns) while taking in the views.
After your cruise, stay in Mooloolaba a bit longer to browse the shops, sit at a cafe or experience one of our gorgeous sunsets from the beach, then return to your accommodation or dine out.
Spend the morning soaking up some last-minute experiences before heading back to Brisbane, completing your unforgettable holiday.
